Mom-shaming

“I wish you’d let me buy Roo a wipe warmer. Can I buy him one? But I’d have to know you were gonna actually use it! All the good moms I know use them, and they make the best baby shower gifts, and any nursing home resident could tell you how jarring-ly cold the wipes are on their skin!”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that little speech, with ever-increasing intensity, from someone I’d like to be able to turn to for love/support/encouragement, stuff like that.

But instead I get mom-shaming. Oh well, that’s life. If you’re a mom, then you’ve probably experienced it somewhere in your life too. It’s part of the mom-sisterhood experience. 😉
