Safety in the Kitchen! ;)


This thumb-cut was a couple days ago, from a pumpkin that needed to be prepared for purée-ing (before it would’ve gone bad); and this index-finger-cut was from slicing a just-finished-cooking loaf of garlic bread for last night’s dinner. 

I always try to be careful, but it seems impossible to avoid these occasional cuts, lol. 🤷‍♀️ 

Well, my mom was over yesterday and she recommended I use a serving fork to hold food in place, instead of using my fingers for that purpose. 

And then this evening while I was busy making pan-fried flounder, hush puppies, & salad for tonight’s dinner, my husband recommended I use tongs to deposit food in the skillets - again, instead of using my fingers. 

Sounds like some good advice, don’t ya think?! 😉
