I’m officially joining the early-Christmas-celebration crowd. 🎄 ❤️ 🥳 Growing up, I was taught there’s a right way to do EVERYTHING. From one parent, if you don’t think/say/do stuff “the right way,” then you’re not a good Christian and you might not be a Christian at all. From the other parent, if you don’t think/say/do stuff “the right way,” then you’re not even a good person. I’ve always been a rule-follower, and I put my trust in Jesus Christ when I was 8 years old; so I’ve just accepted what must obviously be “God’s one right way to do every little thing.” My parents both believed you shouldn’t celebrate Christmas till after Thanksgiving, so of course I knew their way is the only right way - God’s way. Yes, I still love my parents very much & I think they were right about a lot of things. But doesn’t God love variety? He made everyone with unique fingerprints - why? To show us we can be different; we don’t all have to be the same. And lately I’ve been thinking...
